Zozzle Day at Flying Boat
March 4 @ 12:00 pm - 10:00 pm
zozzled (noun). slang term to describe the state of inebriation one attains from enjoying delicious craft brews or other libations. origin: Prohibition-era America.
The story behind the day:
Before the dark ages otherwise known as Prohibition, America had thousands of small breweries and brewpubs that thrived serving a diverse variety of beer styles. Sadly, Prohibition went on for 13 long years, and by its end, many of the smaller brewers had changed professions. This led to bigger companies taking over the industry, thus putting an end to local styles and making light lager the dominant beer style in the country.
A little about our celebration:
This Beer Week, we’re taking it back to our roots. We’re doing a Pre-Prohibition tap takeover, featuring Flying Boat brews, along with Pre-Prohibition styles from Green Bench, Mastry’s and more! We’ll have food and live music by Gloria West. Party like it’s 1914!
So come and get a taste of craft history…whether you try it on tap or enjoy our crowler and growler specials. This is one you won’t want to miss!
